Elden Ring Technically a bad ending

centurosproductions8827: See, that's why the Tarnished is morally correct. We don't "steal" hearts, we legally acquire them by right of salvage from the corpses of our foes.
Divock: My win involved me dying to the Heart Stolen grab, with Radahn dying to Scarlet Rot.

A fitting end.
kalyarn: I love the idea of being pressed right up against Radahn's face during this moment, him scowling right into your eyes and his rancid breath right in your nose, as Miq tells you to chill out.
micfrog: "theyre already quite a lot as a pair" is probably the largest understatement of anything people have said about this game lol
Bossu: I'm fine with them disappearing after their hearts being stolen.
They were summoned by you to your world to assist you, so now that their allegiances have shifted they are no longer co-operators and are sent back.
Neptunequeen42: I'm so glad I organically got accidentally double-grabbed before beating this boss. Seeing the HEART STOLEN text and getting the gesture was such a laugh-out-loud delightful moment, it really gave me the morale boost I needed to avoid snapping my game disc in half while fighting that boss.
Quantumact2908: "Let Us Go Together" is also given upon beating them
KaiserMazoku: Good luck using Miquella's rune while you're dodging 129894583 attacks coming at you at lightspeed
jonlava173: Radahn rides Leonard. Miquella rides Radahn. I clearly see the hierarchy of the new order.
marvibun: I'm kind of glad that neither Ansbach nor Thiollier can be "turned" by Miquella. It's not that it wouldn't make sense thematically on first thought, but rather that both of them have gone through their separate journeys that cement them as "too deep into the thick of it" to be turned anymore.
Thiollier lost Saint Trina through Miquella discarding his compassion, and Ansbach got his dedicated Dynasty Leader's body mangled and displayed to him in a perverted display of what he knew Mohg as; They both lost very dear objects of dedication and desire. Having them turn on you with the simple use of a spell more than anything would just seem like Miquella is actively able to produce love and compassion out of people, rather than the ability to redirect the love they have against their will. It would simply make Miquella a Hypnotist, a literal MESMER, than a deity of love.
nikolaosboukouvalas449: Tarnished: I also steal hearts, isn't that right, buddy?
Bayle: Don't talk to me.
pockystyx4087: I agree with Ansbach; while a lot of the demigods are imposing and powerful figures, Miquella's whole deal is just disturbing on an existential dread kinda level.

Also; as sad as it is that our friends die in the final battle (beside us or not), the idea of them losing themselves to Miquella again would have been even more heartbreaking.
kokorochacarero8003: That's it, I'm bringing the Dung Eater puppet along to have him purified by the magic femboy
mastermarkus5307: I was very disappointed that using the "Let Us Go Together" gesture during the final boss didn't do anything.
If FromSoftware wasn't going to give us a full "side with Miquella" quest, they could've at least given us more than one ending!
scottbuck1572: Zullie once again saying things Fromsoft is too scared to admit
Zillassbu: Speaking of endings, I feel like malenia’s story was just kind of, dropped in the dlc. It would have been nice to see some follow up on what she was promised from miquella or what motivated her more than what we got in the base game
falgalhutkinsmarzcal3962: So the "foundation" of Miquella's age of compassion is a symbol that steals hearts, or, as it were, free will. His Circlet of Light is basically lobotomy magic.
alanthe2: Imagine the discourse if Ansbach got his heart stolen and started attacking you as well
theodoreroberts8242: "It's disappointed that they didn't switch side"

Please don't give fromsoft new idea for their next patch.
Majere613: The Mimic Tear can also be heart-stolen, amusingly. This happened to me on one playthrough and 'rewarded' me with the emote when it happened. I think the Mimic can use the Great Rune when it's quickslotted to clear it, but I've never seen it do it.
czarley5559: Imagine your mimic tear switching sides midfight and now you face 2 Radahns
scholaroftheworstgame3313: This footage shows very prominently the vessel in the center of the circlet's design, which is also present in a different form on the physical circlet we receive and can wear. A vessel bursting with drops of life essence the same shape as those depicted coming from the Erdtree - what is probably the single clearest symbolic representation of the Primordial Crucible anywhere in the game. Similar representations are all over the place but they've always been more subtle or vague and easily dismissed, or else less symbolic and more figurative like the crucible knight armour.
saria8936: "His power is more subtle" they say as miquella summons 24 laser strikes from the sky
jenny_azoth: I mean, technically is a very hard working term in this game ;3
FonoKun: Typo in the thumbnail, Zullie. Love your work!
danieleagostino8538: Imagine summoning those two npc, only to make the boss fight harder and then having to fight them too after the simping grab
metalurgent: What I find most interesting about this is how much of a perspective it gives to our characters power. Even the strongest of the Demi-gods fall easily to Miquella's charm, but it takes two instances of him speaking to us directly
DreadWulfie: I wish we could've had the option to pledge our allegiance to Miquella as a new ending, a bit like accepting Gerhman's offer in Bloodborne for the "Yharnam Sunrise" ending.
TRSRM: i know most of the souls fanbase are probably tired of hearing about berserk references, but i can't help but think of golden age Griffith when it comes to Miquella.
convincing hundreds to fight and die for his goal of becoming king, only by using his charm.
BaldorfBreakdowns: If the charm turned summons against you, no one would ever use them lol
optimal_adrenal6569: The first time I beat them they died to scarlet rot the same time I got my heart stolen. Miquella said “let us go together” dies, drops the boss soul the same time my heart got stolen, I respawn and the battle is over. Got the emote upon respawn too. This was pre-nerf too, so that felt incredibly cool. Even clipped it.
ladonmccabe: I remember when I got Radahn to a sliver of health, he turned Thiollier's heart. I thought for sure I'd have to fight him, but I died before he even disappeared lol. So I just assumed you DID have to fight them. Interesting
Dhrazor: And THAT would have made an actually interesting fight... If we went in with 2-4 aides(like in the first Radahn fight) but as the fight went on slowly all of them would have switched sides if you didn't interrupt the charm of Miquella ...but instead we got Twin Princes 2.0
WayneByNumbers: I especially like that the "Heart Stolen" text is not in the red font of defeat, but the gold of victory, but looking closer shows it to be a greyer, more muted shade
