Elden Ring It was already awful

Loom_Haunteir: It seems like this fact could explain several other things, like how rykard is fused with the serpent. Potentially even how the elden ring is held in Marika's body
PierceArner: “One day, we'll return together. To our home, bathed in rays of gold.”
equivalentexchange4918: Interesting how the flesh melding properties seems to still be quite potent even with Godrick's diluted power, being able to pretty much instantly transplant and control the drake head he got
VictorIV0310: Comparing the Tooth Whip with the Serpent Flail gives you a good look at the miserable cycle of violence, the chain of harm that ravages the Land of Shadow.
ForeverLaxx: Wouldn't be surprised if Godrick misinterprets his ability to "seamlessly meld flesh" as evidence of his divine right to rule rather than as a consequence of his shamanistic bloodline, especially since from his perspective only him and his kin are capable of the feat.
TheSilly6403: MY GOAT GODEFROY MENTIONED, LONG LIVE THE STRONGEST OF THE DEMIGODS
iissacc: i remember reading about someone's theory during the early reveal trailers that they believed that the elden ring was a literal ring that one wears, and so there are other powerful rings. Therefore Godrick grafted arms onto himself to get more ring power.
This has always tickled me and stuck in my mind
gretchling5012: i do love that shadow of the erdtree gives more context for every shardbearer. godrick's shaman blood, rennala's sister, rykard's serpent (and learning more about tanith through the dancer of ranah)...
jacksmythe2187: I'd always wondered why more people weren't grafting if it was such a shortcut to power and never made the connection. I love how things always circle back on themselves for maximum suffering lol
VictorIV0310: Balam Industries sponsored field trip.
NemoTheShark: Kinda funny to think that Godrick sees his grafting as "strength" when to his ancestors it was a punishment for being a "lesser" people.
gummybearchewy5444: I agree with the concept in the video but I think the shamans ability to morph is shown further by Marika’s other children. Rikard merges with the great serpent. Godwyn morphed into the horror that he currently is. This mailable ability also makes them the perfect vessel for outer gods as many of her children are cursed with each one being unique and they perfectly conform to that god.
mariana_1913: "Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it" I guess
makalidhdz: Everytime Zullie drops a video it feels like a reward.
KamilMalach: Disgrace to you
Disgrace to your bloodline
Disgrace to your great great great grandmother's people
Disgrace to the demigods
Disgrace to the dragons
Disgrace to the trees
Disgrace to Rick, sitting in the cave, alone
icetide9411: I feel like if Marika saw one of her relatives not just have to go through the flesh melding process, but do so WILLING, she'd probably go insane even faster than she already did
thehotwindblowing: Grafting gave Godrick a leg up....

....
VictorIV0310: Sometimes, I wonder if the furnace golems were purposefully designed to be Marika and Messmer’s “jars” for the Hornsent as a form of retribution.
pewpewplasma3793: “It’s like poetry, it rhymes.”
britishnarrator6961: I always wondered how he did it so easily - Chopping his own arm and grafting a Dragon in it's place, the entire process taking mere seconds to fully meld. He obviously felt no connection to his arm, so happily lopped it off for the slightest advantage, currying favour with dragons - that poor, twisted, half-sized drake which he calls "truest of Dragons" - and just sticking his stump in was enough to do it.
BlazeMakesGames: This probably also applies to Rykard who was able to fuse himself with a snake by getting eaten by it but was still able to take dominant control over the fused being, which presumably falls to the nature of the Shamans flesh melding thing as well
svenstevenson2245: A thought, on the jar saints, what if Marika was a successful saint.

What if that is why her children are all cursed somehow (potentially godwyn with death root from the get go even) and why 2 of her children ended up being omens/cursed with horns? Because of everything else mixed in with Marika that made her a jar saint.

Perhaps even that's why her turn on the horn sent was seen as a betrayal/why there were statues of Marika in the shadowlands. Moreover she would have needed to be considered one of them to betray them in the first place, perhaps her success as a jar saint is how she was considered "among" them.
SomeCrow: Imagine using a whole race of people as glue
trobitman: It's surprising how much depth was given to Godrick after DLC, with the grafting and "Our home, bathed in rays of gold" things.
gattio: do you guys think godrick grafted his thing
jotasietesiete4397: If the theory that Marika is a succesful attempt to create a saint was true, i wonder what would have happened if Godrick had turned himself into a saint by coincidence
PedroPedro-sm9oy: Godrick lore in 2024 is crazy
jacobperry2491: This makes Roderika an even more obvious parallel to Marika, as they both witnessed all of their companions (in the case of Roderika) or neighbors (in the case of Marika) "grafted" or "jarred" using the same aspect of the shamans.
adammant07: I like to think all of Marika's kids inadvertedly grafted themselves to things without realising.
Godwyns corpse grafting like a virus to the erdtree.
Malenia grafting well with unalloyed Gold to stave off the Rot.
Miquella grafting and then seperating himself from a lot of things.
simon_96: Originally I thought that grafting will be a central plot point of elden ring from the promotion videos
I was surprised that it's not that significant part of the game
Turns out we have gone full circle yet again
ClockworkGearhead: The multiple limbs also seems to invoke the idea of the Hecatoncheires, sons of Ouranos (the Sky) and Gaia (the Earth).
dreadknight0: This is the same case with Rykard who could meld with the God devouring serpent and later meld the bodies of the Volcano manor's Champions to his body after he devoured them. I surely liked the theory that this is also a kind of crucible wich also gives power.
blunderbass851: As the Turtle Pope says: All can be conjoined
smokinggnu6584: His great-great-great Grandmother must have looooooved that little reminder of what had happened to her people with that Grafting art of his.
SuperMickey000: Dont forget that there's jars right out side his room
abyss57: seems notable as well that gostoc has a cut questline in which he claims to be godrick’s son, where he says he’s been “chosen by blood to graft”!
mr_huntie: hey zullie! not sure if you'll see this but just wanted to give you a thank you for the years of time and effort put into all of your content. been a huge fan for the past few years and your work has drastically increased my enjoyment of all of my favorite games. something i didn't think was possible!! thank you and keep up the great work!
gabtheeldritch2263: I wish grafting was more explored as a power in elden ring, the amout of different creatures is indeed fascinating for this kinda of art, with things like the rune bears, lobsters, the snakes or even the lesser dragons and their hearts, you could really become something menancing
