JNaysh: Mr President, a nerf has hit the 2nd Radahn
MaluCristallord: Radahn is so strong that he had to be nerfed twice
noyes9923: hopefully ppl with epilepsy can now play the boss fight without getting killed irl
cadcrane7016: It’s good that they changed the lighting effects. People can finally enjoy this fight without their pc/console blowing up
tasin2776: Cross slash and light effects nerf was badly needed
somebodyanonymous4608: This patch is symbolic of Radahn and Miquella's spirits finally breaking after being farmed by Ongbal too much.
CRH4000: This video is exactly what I was hoping to find. No time wasting just straight to the point. Youtube needs more people like you.
carlossssssss5492: The cross slash nerf and light reduction were definitely needed the rest are just little hand outs. Overall I'll gladly take it.
Renis419: I feel like they should've kept the opening attack personally. Gives you that "oh crap" feeling.
Sleepy_Dandelion: "Patch: Now you can dodge". Reminds me of ADP in DS2. No hate.
Nubbz3YT: they finally let us dodge cross slash without being a neuro scientist
Rassalcon: Most people: ''THANK FUCKING MICHAEL ZAKI!''
Madmen: ''Look how they massacred my boy''
rosinanteonpc: normally I don’t like it when they nerf bosses but I think this is a good change. He’s way more fun to fight
El_Hornio_II: I feel like the bloodflame slash and the hitbox on his ground-slam beginning to going up and launching meteors were a little
MassimilianoCavalera: Cue Siegward: NO!!! You should have WAITED!!!
But seriously, wish I would've known this was coming before I let this boss shave off a couple years from my lifespan
viktorthevictor6240: The fact that improved fps is considered a nerf...
interactant: That crossslash was literally the only thing making it difficult for me to not hit him
davidmingle5910: It's a good nerf, although they should have kept the slam hitbox
I wouldn't mind if they kept the quicker follow-ups from the illusion slash thing.
bopsi: Some other changes:
- The cross-slash backstep attack also has some more recovery frames.
- The explosion attack in phase 2 is slightly smaller, in addition to just being less bright.
- Apparently, the hitbox tied to PCR slamming his swords into the ground when preparing for the rock-sling is still there, but is isolated at the tip of his swords instead of being on the whole thing.
Unchanged things:
- I kinda wish the double-clone distance-closer attack was editted a little bit, because it having so many hitboxes attached to it always made it feel a bit inconsistent in my experience, plus the placement of the apparition of Radahn seemed to sometimes be weird.
- It seems like, just from videos of 1.14 Radahn, that the i-frame ignorance issue is still a thing on that vertical slam he does with both swords. Not 100% sure though, because personally, I only had that issue occur for me once ever, so I'm parroting this claim from other people.
- The clone follow-ups after the phase 2 rock-sling are completely unchanged, which is unfortunate because the inconsistent timings of the clones coming out is a big issue when actually rolling the attack instead of just outspacing it (something you can't really do in some circumstances). There might be very slight differences with how PCR tracks you when you bait him in one direction, and then go in the opposite direction, but if so, it's very miniscule.
Personally, I really like the changes, but some things make me a little sad, since I was so used to the original, flawed as it was. For instance, I wish the fast follow-up after the 4 vertical-clones attack was still there, since that was only a problem because of visibility being an issue imo, which also got fixed, so I think the added time between the clones and the follow-up was a bit much, but it's not necessarily bad by any means. Even after being so used to this fight from an RL1, and liking it for what it was, I was, and still am an advocate for making the fight more accessible for the general playerbase. And largely, I think this is a fair change for a boss that really needed it, since, imo, it just felt very unfinished and lacking of that FromSoft boss polish I and so many other people have come to appreciate. Now all we need is a change to that goddamn Metyr laser (and, also a Waterfowl Dance change would be nice, but I think that ship sailed a while ago lol).
M1kaela7: Big win for removing the double slash un-dodgeable move and also for improving visual clarity and fps, the rest feels unnecessary
lsparta5533: Regular gamers: Better FPS , an optimized game.
Souls gamers: Better FPS, an easier game.
ProbablyAdson: Went from the best boss in the game to the best boss in the game but the gap is bigger now
Abdullah_786-x3s: Just bought a new gaming laptop! Finally gonna play this game!!!!
luwinkre2371: So you are telling me I don't need to circle around him like an idiot to not get hit?
sebastianmartin8665: He moves so slow now, you can actively see his delay before starting a new combo
synchronicity23218: Having beat the dlc 3 times pre nerf i think there are very good nerfs in this fight that make it a lot better, actually all of them are good without making it too much easier. However now it feels like radahn moves in slow motion now. One of the things i loved about pre nerf radahn was his speed and relentlessness but only the cross slash was the main issue. Now that got nerfed along with other aspects that i personally found okay. I suppose it doesn’t matter to me anymore since i got my fill of fighting radahn already so I’m glad for all of the people who can do this fight without having to treat this fight like they are expected to be perfect when they really shouldn’t be asked of such a crazy thing in games like these.
itzkilas: I like this nerf, makes it feel more like a fight than a dodging simulator and your turn to “fight back” is to hit him once or twice depending on your weapon and then back to dodge a bunch of times, pre-nerfed Radhan felt resident sleeper, this patch feels more interactive finally
kuroiiiiii: finally I'm able to fight consort radahn without dealing with proper angling of camera to find a sweet spot with less fps drop.
kebabruh: Performance boost and cross attack nerf was def needed, but i don't really mind that follow up after clone attack and slam hitbox for his meteor attack.
ak47dagunsmoke15: Who had the opportunity to beat him before he was nerfed
Malxer: All my homies who beat Radahn and femboy Miquella pre-nerf, rise up
LMSH: The cross slash nerf is a godsend
tanyatan8168: Honestly the only changes needs were cross slash and lighting effects nerf. Everything else staying the same I wouldn’t have minded.
manofeight1955: I just imagine this one guy still trying to beat PCR then the patch came out and he thought he finally knew the timing of the cross slash attack after 10000 attempts
Modie: The best change for me is the not instant follow-up attack after the light clones. Not because of attacking back, but it's now more clear to even learn because you can see what he is doing. Only thing I would say that I find strange is removing the hitbox on the slam (followed by the meteors). While it hit me a few times, I didn't think that one was unfair in particular. Even at close range, you had enough time to either dodge or just move away.
bandoneple3217: The fact that there's actually a few windows to land hits now is great! Before it felt like no matter how much I dodged, it just didn't matter cause he would always just INSTANTLY start another combo. So once the second phase started, I just almost never had an opportunity to land an actual hit.
sparklepawz1185: I appreciate the cross slash nerf and the light show change but the opening attack wasn’t something that was so broken it needed nerfing.
Dark2Zone: double slash nerf : yes
other nerfs : no
devilvocano420: Radahn so strong he had to get nerfed twice lol
TaroTrashBin: I personally liked the fight pre nerf, though the particle effects being toned down is extremely welcomed
FarmerSlayerFromTheEdoPeriod: I'd say the reduced light effects, better visibility on his attacks and a better dodge on the cross slash was very much needed, but the rest feels like too much
matiasgago: Look how the slowed down my boy
Noizzed: While i do like that there no longer an instant follow up after clone attacks, i now think it's a bit too slow to attack again. It should be somewhat in-between.
michaeljohnston8891: The only things I really feel were needed were the cross slash nerf and the performance improvements. I guess since he takes longer to recover out of stuff now you’ll be able to stance break him more consistently, but the crazy pacing is something I really love about this fight
bengamincopper6508: Honestly I just thought the cross slash was the only thing that needed fixing
mous2894: The visual clutter and cross slash were the only things that needed fixing. Every other nerf is just overkill.
Hegemol900: The cross slash one was needed, but the rest could have been kept out. This is supposed to be the hardest boss in the game, the dificulty was fine.
gugg2216: I feel like the only necessary changes were the cross slash and the reduced flashbang
enby_kensei: Thank God. I love a challenge but that second phase was just bullshit.
Abken.: The double-slash attack was bullshit, so I'm glad they nerfed it to be more easily dodgeable. This was a good idea because it doesn't nerf skill expression - you still need to dodge both slashes, but now it doesn't require frame perfect backsteps with talisman usage.
All other nerfs I think were extremely unnecessary and make a fun boss less fun/less challenging, my 2c
ResponsibleToTheRealm: Good god, that cross slash combo nerf was way overdue. But he's too easy now. They only needed to nerf that initial cross slash combo.
MOHAND80s: Nerf, no nerf it doesn’t matter to you. You still destroy him anyway
dwarow2508: Man I'm glad I managed to beat him before the nerf
manuelmiddleton1446: When I first fought radahn on release, I actually thought I might be completely unable to beat him, I was neither frustrated nor angry, I simply thought I couldn't do it, even after playing other souls games before. And honestly, after beating him twice, I'm pretty happy that was my experience, wouldn't have it any other way. But that's only because it's the last boss in the game, it would be terrible anywhere else.
ArmanMuller: Bro this nerf is a joke. He’s a tree sentinel now
i_my-familymydude9716: Dam I wanted to fight him at its strongest
0-Luxy-0: This is sad, he feels so sluggish now. Came back after 2 weeks of not playing and got him in 2 tries.
w12266: No way they nerfed him this badly. I remember killing the unpatched Consort Radahn two times, and it was or at least felt ALMOST just as hard for the second time as it was for the first time but, actually took way less time and DAMN, it was also a fucking phenomenal fight. This video just made me mad now. And do you wanna know why?
"THE GAME IS TOO HARD" said by SOULS GAMERS!
This is basically the same shit again when the resident evil fanbase cried about Biohazard being "TOO SCARRY", and thus the developers of Village DID put way less horror elements into the game because of this.
Just let that sink in: A HORROR VIDEO GAME being TOO SCARY
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH MODERN GAMING COMMUNITY???
gamingveteran2312: Aww why did they take away the beginning attack? That was so fun to dodge and was a pace setter for me
