syrobe: love the unique poison build! for standard level 1 runs a lot of people use the serpent hunter spear (the one you get before fighting Rykard) and its best to go for charge attacks axe talisman spiked cracked tear physicks for massive stance damage to poise break bosses! you could try that too if you ever get stuck or the starfists with cragblade bleed very good options for late game! good luck bro i cant wait to see u take on every major boss

As someone who's done an RL1 run of this game myself, the best way to treat it is like finding new ways to solve problems and not limiting yourself anymore than you already are. I didn't summon, but other than that, anything was on the table.

nuclearWAFFL: I have done a few RL1 runs if you want a few tips keep reading, but part of the fun is discovering your own solutions to every encounter. Blood infused venomous fang is my personal favorite for a weapon, bandits curved sword is also good but needs scar talisman to wield. The venomous fangs can do insane bleed (if bleed infused) and have the highest poison damage in the game, you also dont need to waste any talisman slots to wield it. You can get the ritual sheild talisman and boiled crab you can tank 1 hit from even a lot of late game bosses attacks. Dragon rot breath can cheese alot of encounters if you can get it off. Your already at level 1 so any cheese you figure out is acceptable in my book.
