Ranni is seeking a world free from the gods influence, and will stop at nothing to achieve that. However she doesn’t try to paint herself as a hero or savior. She recognizes that she has blood on her hands and even makes sure to tell the tarnished of her crimes before accepting them in her service. On the contrary, Miquella is trying to subjugate everyone to his will in order to achieve his utopia. He presents himself as a saint and savior while manipulating countless others to play a part in his schemes.
LAK_770: I took the change of music in the Metyr fight as a reflection of her story - in the beginning she's accompanied by a chorus of celestial voices, but then the voices stop and it's just the sound of the void, just as she stopped receiving signals from the GW. The whole Metyr thread has some of the biggest lore drops in the DLC, I was shocked they gave us information that spicy. My jaw literally dropped when I read her Remembrance.

Miquela claiming to create an age of compassion by wielding love while in truth having discarded his ability to love in the deepest hole the Shadow realm had to offer, Ranni claiming to create an emotionless age of stars while her last words before embarquing on this final journey were "Tell Iji and Blaidd that I love them".

I don't think I've seen people talk about this opposition between them and yet I think it is the most striking.
mt2r-music: The first few seconds of this video look amazing. I still cant comprehend how they made an open world where everything looks like a wallpaper from almost every angle. Playing through the DLC it was really obvious that they tried to achieve this. Just think of the jagged peak. It looks breathtaking pretty much every time you see it. Its just a mountain like in every other game so this shouldn’t be taken for granted. They specifically engineered every single area that the jagged peak is visible from to be presented like a beautiful painting. FromSoft could’ve just ignore this visual design so it would only looks good from the front like most games do but they didn’t. And let’s not forget the angle you’re actually supposed to look at the structures from for the first time. I remember entering the Rauh Ruins for the first time, thinking to myself „how did they manage to make every area feel like entering Anor Londo / Irythill for the first time“.

I first encountered the word while reading a fan-sub of Vagabond, where Musashi is called "Rakshasah" due to his violent ways. It seems like it's similar to Shura in that there's an implication a person can become rakshasah through violent deeds in life.

ericjensen7580: Ranni's darkmoon will do the same. It's an S tier spell in this DLC because there are multiple bosses it will counter in this way. It also lets you jump a lot of boss AOEs. You can get back to back full moons off v putresence knight by jumping his flames. You can do the same with Placidusaxs Ruin. It lets you get a massive punish off where you would not have thought of
ssjmura1654: That extra voiceline for the divine beast fight is very interesting, because she calls you "the strumpet's progeny". The strumpet she's referring to is Marika, and she is basically saying that you are one of Marika's children. There are theories out there suggesting that the tarnished is one of Marika's children, and this voiceline makes the case a lot stronger.
