Gausdave213: Praying for ur D to start working again Todd
carterfn5939: I am a big PvP player and definitely don’t want the game to be in a state where it’s better to farm in PvE to get the best gear since it’s essentially free.
However I think this is needed because the barrier to entry in this game is way too high now. They need some sort of practice mode and need to focus on new player experience.
I also think this game could benefit from a training room with dummies so people can accurately test their damage when they are new to learn what builds do and don’t work.
PvE would be great to learn mobs and bosses - glad this game is looking to make the new player experience better tho.
112cyrax: btw so many people play 25 gearscore because thats where the game feels the best. most players dislike balance at higher gear
Stellz: I agree with everything about the PvE mode and casual player base. I come from playing another Korean developed game, Black Desert Online (BDO) for like 7 years, and Dark and Darker's development and issues are so similar to the problems that BDO had, and still has to this day. The majority of vocal players in the game was the veteran PvP player base, but in the grand scheme of things, we were the minority (maybe 3-5% of the entire game's population would participate in PvP). In an MMO like that it took an incredible amount of time and effort for casual players to be able to compete and catch up with players that had been playing for years (its a lot easier imo for players to gear up and jump into games on D&D in comparison). One of BDO's solutions was to create 'Capped' PvP game modes (similar to 124/224 Lobbies in D&D), where gear score had a set ceiling for various PvP activities. In the short term, this worked and made the PvP scene very popular for 6 months to a year. But because of its popularity, the 'Uncapped' original game modes, almost entirely died. So those uncapped players would migrate into Guilds doing the capped content and/or just completely move their Guilds to the capped content only and 'Smurf' (which to be fair is unfixable in any game) I guess you could say, on the newer and weaker guilds that participated in capped PvP. This eventually just killed both PvP scenes and made the vast majority of all the players/guilds to stop participating entirely. I'm interested to see how this PvE Mode works out for D&D, hopefully a larger influx of players into the game to play casually will eventually lead to some of them participating in HR/PvP modes. Dark and Darker is still a 'new' game I'd say, so they have plenty of opportunities to draw in a lot of new players or returning players. However, if they continue to fail on updates or give players bad impressions, less and less people will come to try things out. BDO got to that point, where no matter what they do the game's name is tarnished and people have so many failed expectations over the years.
chrisbigglock1529: when's the last time you cleaned your keyboard lil bro that D key might be crusty from the dirt of never being washed
RonaldMcDonald-o5z: All I know is however they do it they will fuck it up. And maybe even doing it is fucking it up
loganajlouny3390: I really think we need a separate 4-party game mode where there is no gear score limit and it’s more similar to the beginning playtests. Timmy teams and big gear teams, but a way bigger size map
mufcabbage7116: Love the roguelike idea that could be really fun depending how in-depth they make it
thatguydan3548: magic lock is going to be taking some names in the pve dungeons
lordprime.12: No town hall or map next wipe? Absolute tragic
ImNotKleBB-w3l: Here's my unneeded opinion,
You click PVE at the top of your screen
There is a normal, and a highroller
and your same characters are over there (do not share XP)
PVE characters have no shared stash (not even between each other)
This means gold is back to being on one character and one character only
but for PvE only
PVE characters cannot trade
Well, you could just load in with gear and drop it to a friend and escape.. boom.. a trade.
To prevent trading, if you escape with loot that someone else brought into that match.. it will get sold to a vendor when you escape
Similar to how if you escape with gear a teammate brought in, it will be returned back to them... instead, it's sold to a vendor
PVE lobbies, just you and your team, no one else.
the loot is norms loot only, but maybe a harder difficulty
You can turn in quests on your PvE characters, but will only receive the reward on the PVP character adjacent, not the PvE character
tell me what issues you have with this
saint_snow: PvE is fine if it's like Tarkov's. Completely separate from the main game with no effect on it at all. Just a mode that's local hosted where you can practice with friends.
Otherwise, the game is fully cooked and the game we all played since the playtests is dead.
chost-059: Pve is fine as long as you cant get epic/lege gear that is tradeable/minted. If you can just farm free bis without any risk of dying would ruin the economy
Shnazzleboxxin: Players will get bored of pve mode eventually and move to the actually pvp stuff because that's what the stash and market will be built around.
AstouraTV: Good vid bro, they could make the pve mode client side with a host imo. Would cut on server cost.
Rikuto01: So no content whatsoever. Neat.
If they want to do anything significant this wipe they need to double down on the roguelite mechanics and add more curveballs to the random dungeon system. Random lighting, mob variations, map modifiers, more modules, etc. That kind of content is probably the only thing they can manage to get out the door if they were unable to deliver the new map.
gladlawson61: PVE MODE
akaoni_rictor7215: I like their idea where the trading hall isnt open for the begining of wipe
yournostromo7421: I’ve always wanted a PVE mode just so we can have Dungeons & Dragons camaraderie. VOIP is barely ever used in this game, and no one is incentivized to form large parties. PVE could just allow people to be funny and have a good time when they don’t want to sweat in PVP.
shockedb: What we got this wipe was pretty much Gems, Banshee, new modules, randomized dungeons, new sorc spells.
watertaco: Could have thought a bit longer about what content we did get this wipe
SuperTyrannical1: They said they're turning off player collision for PVE to stop griefing.
VulturousStuff: i think alot of people will be taking this wipe off.
tony9526: Can’t wait for PvE if it’s like tarkovs where you can progress and fight “ai PMC” along with standard PvE
Igwi: We have two game modes, each divided into 3 maps. One of the maps has 3 floors, the other has 2. Great idea to add another mode where nolife kids who grind 12 hours a day and RMT bots will go to play. Apparently I will seriously start to remember the face of every person I meet in normal dungeons or high roller in Frankfurt.
